  • Understand the conceptual, semantic and pragmatic-discursive bases of grammar;
  • Know and discuss grammatical models;
  • Appreciate the contributions of Cognitive Grammar;
  • Understand the cognitive principles for conceptualizing an event and for structuring a sentence
  • Analyze the internal structure of the sentence in Portuguese
  • Identify and characterize grammatical relations, syntactic constructions and syntactic-semantic schemas;
  • Describe structures of coordination and subordination in Portuguese;
  • Describe and explain syntactic constructions in Portuguese;
  • Identify syntactic variation between national varieties of Portuguese.
