- Know and reflect on the current hypotheses of the origin of language;
- Characterize a monolingual, bilingual and plurilingual linguistic community
- Understand some linguistic, cognitive and sociocultural aspects of bilingualism and language contact
- Know and evaluate language policies and their strategies, ideologies and instruments, including language standardization processes, language planning and language protection
- Acquire skills to intervene in the construction of language policies and in their implementation.
