  • Characterize movements of the late nineteenth century: symbolism and decadentism;
  • Understand relationships between movements of the late nineteenth century and proposals included in the modernisms of the twentieth century
  • Identify the main lines of force of the Portuguese and Brazilian modernisms;
  • Recognize the impact of modernist movements on the literature of the two countries;
  • Interpret texts of the selected authors.
