Demography and Sociology of Ageing

  • Explain population dynamics and identify current demographic challenges, particularly the process of demographic ageing;
  • Provide knowledge to relate ageing to social structure and dynamics, in order to understand ageing as a biological, psychological and social process;
  • Study the impact of globalization on the ageing process.
  • Understand how loneliness and social isolation are related to the ageing process;
  • Analyze the factors involved in the culture of healthy ageing.
