The Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences of the Portuguese Catholic University (UCP) - Braga recently hosted the launch of the mentor training program for the AMIF Project - Language Buddy: Supporting the language learning of migrant children and youth through Language Buddies,
The event was attended by over a hundred people from the academic community and various civil society organizations.

The AMIF project, co-financed by the European Commission's Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund, aims to support the language learning of young migrants in the participating countries: Greece, Austria, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Malta, Romania and Bulgaria.

AMIF focuses on the inclusion and language learning of young migrants, promoting a network of mentors who, by supporting language learning, contribute to the integration and development of young migrants in European communities.

The mentor training program is a key part of this project, and many students have already shown interest in taking part. Applications should be made via the link available at braga.ucp.pt.

The Portuguese AMIF team is made up of Paulo Dias, Cândido Oliveira Martins, Catarina Vieira da Silva and Raquel Rodrigues, teachers and researchers at the Catholic University.
