The Portuguese Catholic University (UCP) - Braga is organizing the UCP - Braga Academic Day, which will take place on February 26, between 09h30 and 14h30.
The event, whose purpose is to unite the Academic Community in a day of celebration, also aims to reward the best students and pay tribute to the educational institution's retired employees.
The session will begin in the Aula Magna of the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences (FFCS) with a ceremony that will open with a performance by Líricas - Tuna Feminina da UCP - Braga, but will also include, as usual, an academic procession to the sound of the CRB Academic Choir.
The welcome will be given by Paulo Dias, Pro-Rector of UCP's Braga Campus, and the lecture, on the theme “New Digital Challenges: some reflections”, will be given by Margarida Mano, Vice-Rector of UCP.
Retired employees will then be honored and the best students awarded.
The ceremony will be closed by Dom José Cordeiro, Primate Archbishop of Braga and Spain, after an intervention by a member of the UCP Rectoral Team.
The second panel of the morning will be marked by a series of workshops for students, promoted by the various UCP - Braga groups, namely Radio Sintoniza*te, Cuidar*te, the Psychology Student Group, Mentoriza*te, Voluntaria*te, the Community Service and the Braga Academic Centre, and with the support of the UCP4SUCCESS Project.
The workshops will be followed by a lunch organized by the Frateli Tutti group and the Students' Association of the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences.
At 2.30 p.m., to round off the celebrations on a high note, Onésimo Teotónio de Almeida, from Brown University (USA), will give a lecture in the Isidro Alves Auditorium on his latest book “Diálogos Lusitanos” .
