Álvaro Balsas, Assistant Professor at the Portuguese Catholic University (UCP) - Braga, launched the book "Métodos de Investigación y Diagnóstico en Educación - How to apply educational theory to research practice", together with Rufino Cano, Professor at the University of Valladolid - Spain.
This book, aimed at undergraduate, master's and doctoral students, aims to share the basic and fundamental ingredients to identify,
understand, calculate, describe and interpret their research work, through the use of a statistically appropriate language, to carry out a simple but quality investigation.
It will be available for sale in the bookstore of the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences, located on the 1st floor.
Álvaro Balsas - Master in Physics and Doctor in Philosophy of Science. He is currently a professor at the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences at the Portuguese Catholic University, in Braga (Portugal), where he teaches Statistics, Logic, Philosophy of Nature and Cosmology. His research areas focus on the field of Fundamentals of Cantic Mechanics, Philosophy of Nature, History of Science and Relations between Science and Philosophy, topics on which he has published several articles in international journals. His publications include: Realism
and Locality in Quantum Mechanics (Physics Bookstore, 2014) and Divine Action and the Laws of Nature (Axiom, 2017).
Rufino Cano - Specialist Master in Therapeutic Pedagogy, degree in Philosophy and Education Sciences (Vocational and Professional Guidance), Postgraduate in Planning and Organization of Guidance Services for Labor and Occupational Insertion, Doctor in Philosophy and Human Sciences of
Education. He is Professor in the Area of Research and Diagnostic Methods in Education at the University of Valladolid (Spain). His lines of research are concentrated in the sphere of Psychopedagogical Guidance, University Monitoring and Educational Research. He published different manuals (Guidance and Explanations with Students and Families; Pedagogical Bases of Special Education) and more than a hundred works in book chapters and articles in magazines
educational.
