Isabel Varanda passes the Aggregation Tests at Católica

Over the course of two days, the professor took public exams for her Aggregation in Systematic Theology, and her aggregation at the Catholic University was approved.


After two intense days of exams before a jury made up of experts in the field, Dr. Maria Isabel Pereira Varanda, who is an associate professor at the Faculty of Theology of the Portuguese Catholic University (UCP), has been approved for her Aggregation in Systematic Theology at UCP - Braga.

On the first day of exams, May 27, in the Aula Magna Fr. António Freire SJ of the UCP - Braga, the candidate's scientific curriculum was first assessed by Dr. José Augusto Martins Ramos, Emeritus Full Professor of the Faculty of Letters of the University of Lisbon, and João Manuel Correia Rodrigues Duque, Full Professor of the Faculty of Theology of the UCP, the report on the syllabus, content and theoretical and practical teaching methods of the subject 'Is the metaphor "common home" applied to planet earth adequate and useful for a renewed Christian theology of creation in the 21st century? ', by Dr. Geraldo Luiz de Mori, Professor at the Jesuit Faculty of Philosophy and Theology in Belo Horizonte - Brazil.

On the second day, May 28th, the synthesis lesson was presented by the candidate Maria Isabel Pereira Varanda, and the critical appraisal was carried out by Dr. Maria do Céu Patrão Neves, Full Professor at the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences of the University of the Azores.

At the end of her journey, in front of a packed auditorium, with many members of her family, but also friends, work colleagues and students, Maria Isabel Pereira Varanda saw the jury congratulate her, wish her well and declare that she had passed her Public Aggregation Tests in Systematic Theology, to the delight of everyone present, and a thunderous round of applause and congratulations erupted for the new Aggregate Professor at the UCP Faculty of Theology.
