On 10 January, Ian Robertson, a specialist in epistemology and philosophy of cognitive science, presented a seminar on ‘Philosophy of Artificial Intelligence’ at the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences (FFCS) of the Portuguese Catholic University - Braga.
Robertson began the seminar with a paper entitled ‘The Philosophy of Artificial Intelligence (AI): An opinionated sketch of the landscape’. In a second part, the researcher addressed the theme ‘The limitation game: intelligence and world-models in AI research’.
This event, aimed at teachers, allowed for reflection on the epistemological implications of artificial intelligence (AI), particularly with regard to its integration into social and educational contexts.
Ian Robertson is currently concentrating on comparing the similarities between the method of learning through AI and human experts.
