Transfer consists of the act by which a student enrolls and/or registers at a different institution than the one where, in previous academic years , he or she carried out an enrollment (Ordinance No. 181-D/2015 of June 19).
Students may apply for transfer if they:
- Have been enrolled and registered in another institution/course pair and have not completed it, in Portugal or abroad;
- Have taken the national secondary school exams corresponding to the entrance examinations set by the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences for the year in which they request the Change of Institution/Course Pair (these national exams may have been taken in any previous school year) or equivalent exams;
- Have, in these exams, the minimum classification required by the Universidade Católica Portuguesa for that year.
Transfer from a national higher education institution
The transfer request can be made in person at UCP's School Office or sent by email to servicosacademicos.braga@ucp.pt , within the stipulated deadlines.
Documentation required for application
- Citizen Card
- Application addressed to the Director of the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences, requesting the transfer
- Curriculum Vitae of the course you are attending or have attended previously
- Certificate of the subjects passed, with the respective marks, credits and workload or ECTS
- Course syllabuses for the attribution of eventual equivalences
- ENES form
The subjects to which equivalence is granted are recognized with the ECTS credits foreseen in the curricular plan of the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences of the Catholic University of Portugal.
Transfer from a foreign higher education institution
The transfer request can be made in person at UCP's School Office or sent by email to servicosacademicos.braga@ucp.pt, within the stipulated deadlines.
Documentation required for application
- Passport;
- Application addressed to the Dean of the Faculty, requesting the transfer;
- Curriculum Vitae of the course you are attending or have attended previously;
- Certificate of the subjects passed, with the respective marks, credits and workload or ECTS. The certificate must be accompanied by a statement explaining the marks contained therein, if they differ from the zero to twenty point system;
- Subject programs for the attribution of eventual equivalences;
- Secondary school leaving certificate with classifications per subject;
- Motivation Letter
Note: The original documentation must be duly authenticated by the consular services or embassies of Portugal based in the country to which the qualification relates, or by the consular services or embassies of foreign countries in Portugal, or with The Hague Apostille, for countries that have adhered to the Hague Convention. If the application is made by email, the apostilled documents must be delivered at the time of enrollment.
The subjects to which equivalence is attributed are recognized with the ECTS credits foreseen in the curricular plan of the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences of the Catholic University of Portugal.
