With her short story ‘Ilhas’
Ana Paula Pinto, a lecturer at the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences of the Portuguese Catholic University in Braga, was the winner of the fourth edition of the ‘Prémio Lietrário João Augusto d'Ornelas’. The winner will receive a prize of two thousand euros.
After analysing the four dozen works submitted to the competition, the jury (made up of António Cruz, Carmo Marques and Nuno Barros) decided to award the ‘Prémio Literário João Augusto d'Ornelas’ 2024 to Ana Paula Pinto's short story ‘Ilhas’. It should be noted that the work was submitted under the pseudonym ‘Santiago Falcão’.
In addition to the prize money of two thousand euros, the winner will also be entitled to have her short story published in the collection, which will also include the other two short stories that the jury of the ‘Prémio Literário João Augusto d'Ornelas’ considered worthy of honourable mentions.
