
The 1st Ibero-American Intergenerational Congress on Education, Tourism and Human Rights was held from July 10 to 13 at the Rey Ruan Carlos University - URS, Madrid, organized by Filomena Ponte, Coordinator of the Master's Degree in Education Sciences - Special Education at the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences (FFCS) of the Portuguese Catholic University (UCP) - Braga, Elizabete Tavora (SEDUC-CE) and Francinete Giffoni (Psychiatrist), in partnership with the Rey Ruan Carlos University (URJC), the International Youth Organization for Ibero-America (OIJ) and Federal Institute of Technological Education of Ceará (IFETC).
Focusing on the areas of Tourism, Education and Human Rights, this event brought together topics related to the various goals of the 2030 Agenda, which play a fundamental role in building more inclusive, just and sustainable societies, with a view to presenting the diversity and complexity of the challenges we face in Ibero-America, as well as addressing relevant issues in the global context.
Over the course of three days, names such as Luis Manuel Martinez (URJC), Filomena Ponte (UCP - Braga), Soraya Oronoz (URJC), José Carlos Miranda (UCP - Braga), Francisco Silva (Judge at the Regional Labor Court of the Seventh Region), Carla Ferreira (UCP - Braga), Tião Simpatia (Maria Penha Institute - Brazil) were heard in person and online, as well as more than 30 papers from doctoral, master's and master's students at UCP - Braga.
The 1st Ibero-American Intergenerational Congress was a unique opportunity to reflect, share experiences and generate innovative solutions that can contribute to the integral development of society. Through dialogue and the exchange of experiences between different institutions and fields of study, it became possible for active participation and collaboration between young people, adults and the elderly to make it possible to achieve the Goals and build an Intergenerational Pact.
