The seminar “Inspiring FuTour: the future of tourism professions” took place this morning, organized by the Associação Empresarial de Braga (AEB) in partnership with the Catholic University of Braga and the municipality of Braga.

The Tourism sector is full of potential and opportunities that must be seized, with a challenge ahead of it, which involves, from the outset, the qualification of human resources, in order to increase the quality of the service provided, meeting the requirements of consumers who are growing.

According to Pedro Mesquita Sousa, president of the District Steering Committee of the Portuguese Hotel, Restaurant and Similar Association (AHRESP), tourism will really be «the sector of employability in the next decade», which must be taken advantage of by young people. «In Tourism they will have the opportunity to grow in terms of their careers and at an individual level, it will create the best opportunities. The new generations want to take advantage of this challenge», said Pedro Mesquita Sousa, this morning, at the 1st Panel of the Seminar "Inspiring FuTour: the future of tourism professions", held by the Business Association of Braga (AEB) in partnership with the Catholic University of Braga and the municipality of Braga.

According to the official, the tourism sector requires that those who work in it have a «natural talent to serve others» and «provide unforgettable experiences». «We work in the industry of dreams and we have to be prepared for expectations», he stressed, recalling that this sector «is the engine of the national economy», with great potential.
