Voluntaria*te, the Volunteer Center of the Catholic University of Portugal – Braga Regional Center, promoted, during the morning of March 16th, the 2nd edition of the Blood Donation Campaign “Every Drop Counts”.
This initiative, aimed at professors, employees and students of the institution, was carried out to fulfill the objectives of contributing to a solidary society and, above all, helping to save lives.
By donating blood, volunteers are sharing an essential good for the survival of another person. It is a simple gesture that does not have negative repercussions for health, at the same time that it can make a difference in the life of someone who has undergone an operation, been the victim of a serious accident or who suffers from a chronic illness that requires transfusions.
Daniela Monteiro, member of the Volunteer Coordination Commission and professor in the Social Service course, says that “this civic commitment is a tradition that UCP de Braga wants to maintain, hoping that in future editions the number of donors will continue to grow”.
