Inês Espada Vieira, Coordinator of the Initiative for Students and Researchers at Risk of the Universidade Católica, participated in the panel "Student experience in a European Catholic University" at the General Assembly of the European Federation of Catholic Universities (FUCE), an association of which the University is a member, taking place on 4 to 6 May at the Université Catholique de Lille.

"The classroom as a place of hope: admission and accompaniment of refugee students at the University" was the title of the intervention of the professor of the Faculty of Human Sciences, which launched the session that brought together professors and students on 5 May. The panel also featured the speakers Barbara Segaert, Sarah Durelle Marc and Annick Castiaux.

Also present at this annual meeting of FUCE was José Manuel Pereira de Almeida, Vice-Rector of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, in representation of the President of the University, Isabel Capeloa Gil.

Founded in 1991, the Federation aims to contribute to the network of Catholic Universities in Europe and Lebanon.  In this year's general assembly, the FUCE projects will be addressed, as well as the evolution of the European Summer School that the association has been promoting.
