"A Quinta do Cedro", an unpublished novel by António Breda de Carvalho, was the winner of the Luís Miguel Rocha Prize instituted by the Viana do Castelo City Council, in partnership with Porto Editora. The prize was awarded to the winner at the Viana do Castelo Municipal Library on July 5, in a session chaired by the Deputy Mayor.

The novel offers the reader a unique reconstruction of the mental atmosphere and social tensions experienced in inland Portugal during the Estado Novo, in a country undergoing transformation up until the Carnation Revolution. Cândido Oliveira Martins, a lecturer at the Portuguese Catholic University - Braga, was one of the members of the jury for this literary prize.
