Jorge Barbosa, Specialist Professor in Social Work at the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences (FFCS) of the Portuguese Catholic University (UCP) - Braga, is one of the authors of the latest book published by UCP Editora: “Mental Health and Social Work: New Perspectives”.
This book, which is the result of the participation of a group of national experts, brings together contributions from social workers working in the field of mental health who combine their experience in the field with their capacity for research and critical reflection on their practices and contexts.
In the first part, there are three investigations carried out by social workers who have met the quality standards defined for this type of research, namely collaboration with academic centers. The second part contains three articles by social workers who reflect on their professional practice in hospital departments, two in psychiatry and mental health and one in child and adolescent psychiatry.
The FFCS professor is co-author of the chapter “The model of social and community mediation in the reintegration of people with addictive behaviors: Processes and results”.
The book is available on the UCP Editora website.
