Universidade Católica Portuguesa will receive Cardinal Tolentino Mendonça for the Grand Conference "What Spiritual Resources to Face the Future?", on May 26, at 6 pm, in the Cardeal Medeiros Auditorium, at the Católica headquarters, in Lisbon.
This conference marks the conclusion of the 55th-anniversary celebrations of the University, which was founded on October 13, 1967, by decree of the Holy See. The event will include the participation of the Cardinal-Patriarch of Lisbon, the Great Chancellor of the University, Manuel Clemente, as well as the President of Católica, Isabel Capeloa Gil.
José Tolentino Mendonça is the Prefect of the Dicastery for Culture and Education, of the Roman Curia, and also former vice-rector of Católica, where he graduated in Theology and obtained his doctorate in Biblical Theology.
Theologian and poet, his work spans over 50 published books and has won numerous literary awards.
