On 18 and 19 September, the Braga Campus of the Portuguese Catholic University hosted the 3rd edition of the End of Summer University, promoted by the Municipality of Braga as part of European Mobility Week.
The opening session was addressed by the Director of the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences, José Manuel Lopes, and the Councillor for Mobility at Braga City Council, Olga Pereira.
This event was part of a diverse series of actions aimed at debating the role of the street as a multifunctional public space. Its main objective was to (re)think the forms of participation and involvement of citizens in the processes of transforming urban space.
The plenary session and round table that followed addressed the theme of young people and children sharing urban space and featured Manuel Sarmento (University of Minho), Carla Pinto Cardoso (Portuguese Catholic University of Braga), Cidália Silva (University of Minho), Gabriela Trevisan (ProChild CoLAB) and Sandra Brito (Municipality of Braga), moderated by João Monteiro (University of Minho).

On the second day, the theme centred on participatory processes and was attended by Daniel Casas Valle (Urban Dynamics and Future Design of Streets), Catarina Vieira da Silva (Portuguese Catholic University), Filipa Corais (Municipality of Braga), Ivo Oliveira (University of Minho) and Maísa Tobias (Federal University of Pará in Belém), with Márcia Silva (University of Beira Interior and University of Minho) moderating the round table.
This was the 3rd edition of the event. The first edition was held at the Institute of Social Sciences at the University of Minho, where the focus was mainly on issues related to participation and governance for the transition (to sustainable urban mobility). The following year, the GNRation space hosted this event, transforming its building into a living laboratory, where participants had the opportunity to visit some of the innovative results of the Baterias 2030 (DSTsolar) project on site.
