The curriculum unit of Foreign Language III - French Level A1 has the overall purpose of providing students with knowledge and skills aimed at elementary communication in French language. The program follows the linguistic policy of the Council of Europe defined in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
To reach level A1 of the CEFR, a student who has taken and passed the CEFR must be able to:
- Understand and use familiar and everyday expressions, as well as very simple statements aimed at meeting concrete needs;
- Be able to introduce him/herself and others and to ask and answer questions about personal details such as where he/she lives, people he/she knows and things he/she has;
- Can communicate in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is cooperative.
