The initiative, which will take place at the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences, aims to contribute to a more peaceful society.

On January 18, 19 and 20, the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences (FFCS) of the Portuguese Catholic University (UCP) - Braga Regional Centre will organize the 5th International Pedagogy Congress - "Education and Culture of Peace: Memory, Truth and Forgiveness". The initiative aims to provide a space for reflection, as well as for sharing ideas and experiences, which can contribute to deepening the paths leading to a more peaceful and harmonious society.
This congress will feature a speech by the Archbishop of Braga, José Cordeiro, on January 20, and plenary lectures by the judge counselor Laborinho Lúcio (January 18), Guilherme D'Oliveira Martins (January 19) and Izaskun Sáez de la Fuente, from the Universidad de Deus to (January 20).
Marked by strong military, social, religious and political conflicts, as well as a growing wave of migrants and refugees, the current situation calls for deep thinking about the driving role of education for understanding and good relations between people and peoples. This dimension implies at least the three major vectors that constitute the lines of force of this congress: memory, truth and forgiveness.
The congress is mainly aimed at academics and professionals, researchers and teachers, governmental and non-governmental organizations, civil society, educators and students, school managers and directors and anyone interested in the theme of Education and Culture of Peace.
