She graduated in History Teaching from the University of Minho and in History (Research) from the same institution. She specialised in Tourism and Heritage Development at ISAI in 2004. In 2010 she completed her PhD in Educational Sciences, specialising in Educational Technology, at the University of Minho, with a thesis entitled ‘Proposal for a Model for Integrating Information and Communication Technologies into Teaching Practices: the student from critical consumer to producer of online information’.
She has taught in primary and secondary schools and is currently a lecturer at the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences of the Portuguese Catholic University (Braga).
A researcher at the Educational Technology Laboratory of the University of Coimbra and at the Centre for Research in Theology and Religion Studies (CITER | UCP), she has carried out research in the areas of teacher training and teacher professional development, emerging technologies and active teaching and learning methodologies. She has several publications in the proceedings of scientific meetings, book chapters and articles in national and international scientific journals.
She has developed a model for integrating Web 2.0 tools in order to guide students from consumers to producers of online information. Her research interests include the integration of ICT into the curriculum and learning and the construction of digital educational resources, particularly for mobile devices. Her latest research concerns the creation of gamified activities for learning History, her area of basic training, as well as the production of content based on apps with Artificial Intelligence technology.
She is the author of several book chapters and articles published in national and international conference proceedings. In her professional activities, she has interacted with collaborators in co-authoring scientific papers.
