She received her PhD in German Language and Literature from the Universidade Católica Portuguesa and is currently a member of the Faculty Board and Coordinator of the Degree in Applied Foreign Languages. Between 2007 and 2009 she was a visiting researcher at the Center for Semiotics at Aarhus University and the Department of Cognitive Sciences at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. Since 2016, she has been a member of the Scientific Council of Germanistics of the DAAD – Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst.
Researcher in the Culture, Translation and Cognition line at CECC, her areas of interest are Culture and Cognition, Language and Cognition, Cognitive Poetics and German Studies.
