What does this course offer?
The Master's Degree in Philosophy, with a specialization in Philosophy of Religion, seeks to provide all those interested with a suitable context for philosophical research into the religious phenomenon in general and the nature of our assertions regarding religious belief in particular. The aim is to encourage debate on questions such as the following:
- What kind of factors make up the discursive constitution of arguments that claim to be both rational and religious?
- How do advances in the natural sciences affect religious views of the world and life?
- What are the constituent dimensions of the religious phenomenon?
- What relationship does religious experience have with other dimensions (such as cultural, psychological, social, political and economic) that determine human experience?
- How do we deal with the “saying” of religion in a plural and secular society?
- How should we interpret and evaluate different religious traditions?
- What should be understood as a religious fact?
- How should the relationship between philosophy and theology be considered?
This program aims to help all participants to articulate in an innovative and committed way, albeit in a climate of total freedom and respect, the religious experience (and expressiveness) of the human being in the light of the universal question of meaning. As such, the postgraduate program in Philosophy of Religion will be a space of excellence for reflecting on religious experience and the meta-physical dimension of the human being.
Skills to be developed
- Recognize the relevance of the most recent theoretical approaches to the religious phenomenon;
- Adapt the theoretical tools according to the peculiarity of the themes of the multiverse of Religion that most interest or impassion them;
- Be able to develop strategies for deepening intercultural and inter-religious dialog, in its most varied forms;
- Select appropriate methodologies for the research processes they have to carry out, particularly for the organization of their master's dissertation.
