Program Description

The internet and the digital environment have brought about changes in personal, group, organizational and mass communication.

The evolution of the media ecosystem in recent decades, from the so-called Web 2.0, and with it social networks and other new digital media, to Web 5.0, has created a new communication paradigm, inexorably bidirectional and marked by 
participation and interaction. Today, more and more individuals and organizations think, create, represent and communicate reality through innovative digital content.

Consequently, the market needs professionals with the communication skills 
skills to respond efficiently to an online world that is constantly changing, to new forms of production and new ways of producing and managing information, new ways of acting and interacting, new organizational and interact, new organizational and business models, new forms of 
entertainment, new artistic models.
 

What does this course offer?

The Master's Degree in Digital Communication at the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences the need to train researchers and professionals with the theoretical, technical and practical theoretical, technical and practical skills to analyze, build and manage this new communication paradigm and this new digital society.

The Master's is aimed at all those who develop or intend to develop 
innovative digital communication strategies in companies, institutions, media organizations and in the various contexts and challenges of entrepreneurship.

It offers comprehensive, multidisciplinary and integrated training, combining a solid theoretical basis with the application of knowledge in the development of professional and research projects in specific and diverse contexts of digital communication and in the media, organizational, educational, recreational and artistic fields.
 

Objectives:
  • Reflect on the implications of the Internet and Web 2.0 to 5.0 in the context of new communication practices and challenges in today's digital society;
  • Analyze the new digital communication paradigm from a multidisciplinary perspective (communication sciences, language, cognition, culture, business, design and visual arts);
  • Critically understand the issues, methodologies and strategies of today's digital and social media;
  • Develop skills in creating, planning, managing, distributing and evaluating of digital communication in the private and public spheres and in various fields such as traditional and new media, companies, organizations, education, entertainment and the arts;
  • Use the different digital technologies and exploit their communicational possibilities in corporate, business, organizational, advertising and marketing, journalistic advertising and marketing, journalistic, such as digital journalism, creative industries, educational industries, educational, recreational, such as digital games and other entertainment artistic;
  • Develop a strategic digital communication project, with the possibility of implement it in a company, start-up, audiovisual production agency, advertising agency, media organization, design studio, etc.
     
Access:

Degree holders in Communication Sciences, Audiovisual and Multimedia Productions and related areas are eligible to apply. Communication Sciences, Audiovisual and Multimedia Productions and related areas. 

Candidates who do not hold a degree in the aforementioned or related areas mentioned or related fields, but who present an academic, scientific or professional curriculum that attest to the skills required to complete the cycle of studies cycle of studies, may also apply.
