
Short Biography
In 2008, Ezgi Acun started college at the department of Psychology of the Abant Izzet Baysal University. In the third year of college, she visited Szeged University in the scope of the Erasmus programme for one semester. After graduating in 2012, Ezgi Acun started to work as a research assistant in Istanbul University in 2013, while she was also performing her master programme. She completed her master’s degree in Developmental Psychology at the Istanbul University in 2016 and, in the same programme and university, completed her PhD in 2023. After three months, Ezgi Acun moved to Eskişehir, where she started to work here as a research assistant. At the moment, Ezgi Acun has 12 years of experience as a research assistant. Her major is in the field of Developmental Psychology. Particularly, in her master’s degree thesis, Ezgi Acun investigated sharing as a prosocial behaviour in pre-school children. In her Ph.D. dissertation, she investigated theory of mind in middle childhood and early adulthood. Theory of mind is the ability to attribute mental states like desire, intention and belief to other people as well as to oneself. This has been her main focus of research, although she is also interested and has been investigating prosocial behaviours like helping, sharing, comforting and cooperating.
