The Manual of Procedures and Best Practices will be presented on October 27, following 29 collaborative working sessions between the district’s municipalities and Social Security.
The 14 municipalities in the Braga district and the Braga District Social Security Center have joined forces to standardize procedures in the area of social services through the Braga Social Community of Practice (CoP), established in January 2024.
The initiative has already held 29 collaborative working sessions and involves approximately 170 professionals from the Social Assistance and Support Services (SAAS), with the goal of reducing inequalities in access to social assistance, preventing the duplication of financial assistance, and improving the efficiency of services.
Recognized by the National Association of Portuguese Municipalities (ANMP) as a best practice in institutional collaboration, the methodology could be replicated in other regions of the country.
This journey will be marked by the presentation of the Manual of Procedures and Best Practices for Social Action in the District of Braga on October 27, 2026, during the 1st CoP Meeting, titled “Sharing to Transform.”
The session will take place in the Aula Magna Auditorium of the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences at the Portuguese Catholic University, on the Braga Campus, and will feature representatives from Social Security, the ANMP, and the district’s 14 municipalities.
