The latest edition drew about 500 participants, 50% more than in the previous cycle

Philosophy returns to dstgroup. For the eighth consecutive year, the company is offering a course for its employees, developed in partnership with the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences at the Portuguese Catholic University (UCP) in Braga. The initiative, which seeks to go beyond an exclusively technical view of professional training, involves more than 700 employees in this second year of the 4th Cycle of Studies.

Logic, aesthetics, philosophy of religion, contemporary thought, anthropology, metaphysics, politics, economics, and art are some of the areas covered in the program. Through these subjects, participants are invited to question and interpret the world and to develop a more critical and pluralistic perspective on contemporary challenges.

Among the works selected for this year are texts by António Vieira, Adam Smith, Paul Ricoeur, Immanuel Kant, and Simone Weil. “The choices are not innocent and always revolve around an idea of practical wisdom, phrónesis, an ethics of the essentials, duty for its own sake, the awareness we must have of the moral law—‘reason as fact,’ spirituality, objective morality, equity as a corrective measure, and freedom,” explains José Teixeira, chairman of the Board of Directors of dstgroup.
