The Braga Regional Centre of the Portuguese Catholic University (UCP) will mark the 25th anniversary of its establishment on May 28, in an event that celebrates the journey and development of the Campus and its Faculties of Philosophy and Social Sciences and Theology.

The ceremony to mark the 25th anniversary of the Braga Regional Centre, which will begin at 5.30pm, will include a welcome from the pro-rector of UCP-Braga, Paulo Dias, followed by a speech by João Duque, the previous pro-rector of UCP-Braga, who will talk about the journey and the people who raised the campus. The initiative will also feature a speech by the Mayor of Braga, Ricardo Rio.

The academic choir of UCP-Braga will be the highlight of the event, which will close with speeches by the rector of UCP, Isabel Capeloa Gil, and the Metropolitan Archbishop of Braga, José Cordeiro.

The Eucharist, which will be presided over by Archbishop José Cordeiro, begins at 7pm in the Immaculate Chapel.

The end of the celebrations will be marked with a dinner in the Cloisters of Espaço Vita, which will bring together the academic community and guests in a moment of fraternisation.
