Sérgio Silva holds a Ph.D. in Intelligent and Adaptive Software Systems, as well as a bachelor’s and master’s degree in mathematics.

He is a university professor in the fields of Exact Sciences, Computer and Information Sciences, and Artificial Intelligence.

He is a researcher at LIACC—the Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science—and the author of several articles related to AI and its application in fields such as Industry, Education, Robotics, Cybersecurity, the Arts, Health, Economics, and Management, among others.

He has participated in various projects involving local governments, companies, and educational institutions to promote the ethical use of AI, as well as in national cybersecurity events in collaboration with the CNCS—National Cybersecurity Center.

In addition, he has supervised theses, dissertations, final-year projects, and internships, and has served as a judge for various examinations.
