PhD in Humanities (2001), in the speciality of Latin Literature - area of Renaissance Humanism in Portugal, with the thesis ‘O Padre Luís da Cruz, S. J. e a tragicomédia Iosephus’, under the supervision of Prof. Nair Castro Soares of the University of Coimbra. Degree in Humanities (1984), Pedagogical Aptitude and Scientific Capacity Tests (1993). She did her academic training at UCP.
She teaches in the area of Classical Studies: Classical Culture, History of Ancient Art, Latin Language and Classical Matrices of Portuguese Literature. She taught in primary and secondary schools between 1982 and 1987, at the ESE of Vila Real in 1987 and at the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro from 1987 to 1988.
Her main areas of interest are: Classical Studies and Renaissance Humanism (History, History of Science, College Theatre, Literary Theory), with collaboration in research projects in Portugal (University of Aveiro and Lisbon) and Spain (University of Extremadura and Granada).
