The Catholic University of Portugal celebrates its National Day with an Academic Session, on the 2nd of February, at 4 pm, which will take place at the Auditorium Cardeal Medeiros, in Lisbon. On this day, José Manuel Durão Barroso and Barbie Zelizer will be awarded the degree of Doctor Honoris Causa.
The ceremony will also see the imposition of insignia and delivery of doctoral letters to doctors who obtained their degree in 2022, and the attribution of silver and gold medals to UCP employees who completed 25 and 40 years of service in 2022.
The National Day of the Catholic University of Portugal is celebrated on the first Sunday of February, the 5th, under the motto “Knowledge at the Service of Social Fraternity”.
On that day, relevant to the entire academic community, a Thanksgiving Mass is celebrated at the Parish Church of Santa Isabel, in Lisbon, at 11:00 am, which will be presided over by His Most Reverend Eminence D. Manuel Clemente, Cardinal Patriarch of Lisbon and Chancellor of the UCP, and broadcast live on Rádio Renascença.
