The Catholic University of Portugal (UCP) - Braga Regional Centre, represented by Cândido Martins, Professor and Coordinator of Culture at the corresponding institution, joined the Advisory Board of the Portuguese Capital of Culture - Braga’25 for a meeting at Espaço gnration, in Braga.
This meeting was chaired by Ricardo Rio, Mayor of Braga, and promoted by the team that prepared Braga’s candidacy for the European Capital of Culture in 2027.
Despite losing the aforementioned competition to Évora, as determined by the Ministry of Culture, Braga was chosen to be the Capital of Portuguesa in 2025, with a budget of 17 million euros.
In this sense, the aforementioned meeting focused on planning and adapting a cultural program that is more appropriate for this 2025 celebration, taking into account the social reality of Braga’s environment, the intended objectives and the various actors involved in this event that is intended to be a dynamic one.
