On 9 and 10 May, Cândido Oliveira Martins, a lecturer at the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences (FFCS) of the Portuguese Catholic University (UCP) - Braga, was responsible for coordinating the International Colloquium ‘Camilo in Relation’, which took place at the National Library of Portugal (BNP) in Lisbon.

This academic event brought together Portuguese and foreign researchers to discuss Camillo's work and its important relational dimension. Camillian writing demonstrates a writer in constant dynamic relationships, contradicting the stereotypical image of the isolated man from S. Miguel de Seide. Camilo travelled in his own way and in multiple forms; he related and corresponded intensely; he had an unusual knowledge of other literatures, both ancient and modern; he occupied a central place in the literary milieu, in the transition from Romanticism to Realism; and he left a fruitful literary legacy that is visible in other writers right up to the present day.
