The Portuguese Catholic University (UCP), through the Center for Philosophical and Humanistic Studies (CEFH), has announced a call for applications for a doctoral research fellowship in the field of Linguistics, funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) as part of the European alliance Transform4Europe.
The fellowship is intended to support research in the field of “Language, Cognition, and Linguistic Variation and Change,” as part of the research project “Ontological Foundations of Human Nature: From the Brain to Sociability.” The research will be conducted by CEFH, in collaboration with the University of Alicante, within the framework of the doctoral programs at both institutions.
Both Brazilian and international citizens with a degree in Linguistics, Language Sciences, or related fields are eligible to apply, provided they do not hold a Ph.D. Selection will be based on academic and scientific merit, as well as the quality of the research proposal submitted.
The competition provides for a monthly living allowance, personal accident insurance, and support in accordance with the terms set forth in the FCT Research Grant Regulations.
Applications will be accepted from May 15 to May 31, 2026, and must be submitted by email to concursos.cefh@ucp.pt.
